sharc 12-string guitar
The sharc-12 is the world's first 12-string electric guitar with its tuners mounted on the body instead of on the headstock. Why? To eliminate a common problem with 12-strings: top-heaviness.
The sharc-12 uses standard strings. The ends are secured by a clamp with Allen screws at the top of the neck and the ball-ends fit into the tuners located behind the bridge. Here, two sets of ABM headless tuners are used. Compared with conventional 12-string guitars, the sharc-12 provides superior tuning stability. An interesting feature of the ABM bridge is that the intonation can be adjusted not just for each pair of strings, which is always a compromise, but for each individual string.
The laminated neck of the sharc-12 is padouk/maple and the ebony fretboard has 24 frets.
Active electronics and 3 custom single-coil pickups made by Harry Häussel produce a clear, crisp jangling sound.
